On weekends everybody tries to make it to the beach.
The results are trafficjam and piles of waste. The beaches next to the cities are packed with sunbathing people. Everywhere they play volley, beachsoccer and other sports. Where the surf is good enough you can watch
surfers. Young Capoeiristas show their tricks and bands attrack crowds of dancing and singing people. Beachvendors sell cold drinks like the “supergelada” which usually means icecold beer, sweets and more. The
beaches are many and endless. Therefore it is quite easy to find a quite spot. But at the remote and lonely beaches there are no “barracas” where you can get your “Coco
gelado” which means cold Cocojuice direkt from the fruit. There is only one official nudist beach, but the There are no dangerous sharks in the area. As closer you are to
the cities as more you should take care ot thieves. The sun burns intensely as Bahia is pretty close to the aquator. Use some good sunscreen!
